The short answer

Up to 60 days in Bali

The VOA and e-VOA allow 30 days, and one extension adds 30 more.

60 days

Maximum stay: 30 days plus one extension

  • Fixed government fee

IDR 500,000, set by Indonesian immigration and not negotiable.

  • Agent service fee

Covers paperwork, transport, queueing and handling. It varies by agent.

  • Start two weeks early

Begin at least two weeks before your current visa expires.

Why use an agent

Less bureaucracy, more holiday

You can extend on your own, but the rules are not always obvious to visitors.

  • 01 / 05

    Fewer errors

We know the requirements, so delays and rejections are less likely.

  • 02 / 05

    Fewer office visits

The process can mean several trips to immigration. We make them for you.

  • 03 / 05

    Documents pre-screened

Checked before submission, to avoid extra copies or legalisation costs.

  • 04 / 05

    Progress updates

We track your application and update you at every stage.

  • 05 / 05

    Your time back

Spend it in Canggu, Ubud or Seminyak, not in an office queue.

What you pay

Two fees, one fixed

The government fee never changes; the agent fee depends on who you use and how urgent it is.

  • Government fee: IDR 500,000, paid to immigration.
  • Agent service fee: typically IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,500,000.
  • Rare extras: photocopies or legalisation if a submission is incomplete.

Extension questions

Quick answers

What travellers ask most before extending.

What does a VOA extension cost?

A fixed government fee of IDR 500,000, plus an agent service fee, typically IDR 800,000 to IDR 1,500,000 depending on the agent and urgency.

How long does the extension take?

Usually 7 to 14 working days from submission to the return of your passport, depending on office workload and holidays. Start at least two weeks before your visa expires.

Can I extend more than once?

No. The VOA and e-VOA extend once, for a maximum of 60 days. Longer stays need a different visa, such as a social-cultural visa.
